Nature the Youth Work: InterConnect Training Course

Training Course

21-28 September 2024 | Kobuleti , Georgia

Environment, ecology and sustainability in the practices of small youth organizations.

The training course is part of the KA 1 project 'Nature the Youth Work', which will be implemented by Mission: Reconnect, Czechia, in cooperation with other organizations. The project aims to transform youth organizations' practices into more sustainable and green ones and generate new ideas addressing the issues of ecology, sustainability, and green lifestyle in the context of youth work, especially at the local level.

The training course aims to reach the following objectives:

  • to raise the competencies of youth workers to design and deliver activities, increasing environmental and ecological awareness of young people, including activities stressing the element of interconnectedness, e.g. tackling the connections between the well-being of young people, and their health and addressing environmental issues;
  • to equip the youth workers with new tools and practices that they can apply at their work with young people to encourage them to ‘act and change’ and contribute to creating a more environmentally sustainable society;
  • to learn from youth practices of participating countries tackling the issues of ecology, environment, and sustainability in a more complex way in connection with the well-being and health of young people;
  • to reflect on the role of youth organizations in their communities and the possibility of cooperation with other actors (schools, ecological organizations, community gardens) to raise ecological and environmental awareness of young people and community members;
  • to evaluate and improve practices of the organizations needed to be able to respond to the needs and interests of young people and support their active involvement in the society;
  • to equip the staff, youth workers, and leaders with information on the Erasmus + Programme and facilitate creating new project ideas supporting sustainable cooperation.

The training course will connect 21 participants and will be based on methods and tools of non-formal learning. The proposed program can be found in the download.
