Music Moves You[th]

Nearly everyone enjoys music, whether by listening to it, singing, or playing an instrument. But despite this almost universal interest, many educational systems (both formal and non-formal) are not bringing it as a part of their programmes and activities. Music is mainly seen as an entertainment tool, but it is actually a cultural, historical and educational phenomenon. A wide number of studies and researches have proven the power of music in an educational and social context and we believe it is a vital tool for connecting with (young) people.

Together, we will spend 14 days in the exploration of music and sound as a tool to facilitate activities and connect with others.

We will spend 2 weeks in beautiful French rural Burlats, accommodated in a renovated former mill called Moulin des Sittelles. We will be divided into rooms of different capacities: single rooms, double, four, five, six or even seven people in bunk or regular beds. As we are going to live together, we will also take collective care of the space: we will prepare our own breakfast, we will keep the space clean and tidy and will support our chef in cooking for the whole group. Expect an exciting music & sound residency, community living and exploration of the beautiful local rural area!
