Mountains for the Mind

GOALS
The Mountaind for the Mind  project: 

* Encourages the  awareness of career/job opportunities that mountain areas can offer through experience of good practices of sustainable economy and micro businesses;
* Promotes the enhancement of an outdoor education method that aim to integrates the knowledge of the landscape and its resources in order to  increase the environmental civil responsibility;
* Recognize and transmit the know-how of development opportunities in the mind balance wellnes as an alternative to work with youth;
* Support the development of European network activities in Mental Healt and nature.
* Provide to the young people  and to the municipality of Lavarone with an opportunity to generate an European network.

FOR WHOM
• Trainers, educators, instructors, facilitators, youth workers or volunteers working with youth
• Motivated to learn new methods of outdoor and non formal education;
• Interested in acknowledging best practices on sustainable, green and friendly-environment businesses.   

RESULTS
* Increase of awareness of the participants towards the mountain territory;
* A greater awareness of the importance of natural resources and its consequent mental health 
* Knowledge, skills and competencies regarding outdoor and non-formal education methods related to green and non formal education; 
* Knowledge, skills and competencies regarding to use the forest for  live in harmony with nature;
* Network of youth organizations engaged in the enhancement and development of mountain areas; 
* Increase of collaborations at European level; 

WHO WE ARE: APS Creativi108 is a non-profit association founded in 2007 that operates on the Italian territory developing a wide network of partnerships both at local and international level. It promotes ideas and social projects that allow inclusion, antidiscrimination and participation as its main values, focusing its activities on cultural, training and aggregation opportunities and proposals.

WHERE: Lavarone is a mountain town of a thousand inhabitants located in the Trentino area, defined as Alpe Cimbra, in the north of Italy. Its altitude of over 1000 meters above sea level and its characteristic plateau with lakes and woods has increasingly characterized the economy of seasonal tourism. Nevertheless, this territory has rich traditions of micro-enterprises in harmony with the territory regarding the use of the natural resources present. This particular relation of sustainability and development can generate job opportunities for young people who live in mountain areas in Europe, without being forced to leave the territory for scarce opportunities. APS Creative 108 in collaboration with the Municipality wants to enhance these resources by creating opportunities for dialogue at a European level with organizations or entities that live in mountain areas. An important environmental capital for the entire continent that needs to free itself towards sustainable development and respect for nature.
