Training Course
22 February - 1 March 2023 | Szeged, Hungary
Slam poetry is an informal poetry style when the performing artist uses spoken language forming the content usually in verse form. Slam Poetry’s most important characteristics is given by its content which is the message what the artist would deliver to the audience. The messages are usually about social criticism. The project’s aim is to equip youth workers with tools to make them able to reach and involve young people in democratic life.
The project has three aims considering also Slam Poetry’s spirit:
1) Creating of a „common language” in the form of Slam Poetry which may provide youth workers and young people a common communication channel. Along this channel, created by youth workers, they will be linked with young people and they will be able to communicate with each other working together effectively through a „common language” which will be Slam Poetry.
2) The project’s second aim is to make youth workers able to use Slam Poetry as an educational tool in their daily work creating a learning experience for young people using this form of communication.
3) The third aim of the project is let youth workers get to know methods which make them able to use Slam Poetry as a tool of advancing democratic participation.
The project’s target group is: NGO trainers, facilitators, mentors, coaches, project managers and coordinators. The project will gather participants from Hungary, Slovakia, North Macedonia, Latvia, Italy, Croatia, France, Spain, Cyprus. Through this call we are searching for participants from all countries.
