More than a friend 2015

This training course for EVS mentors from EECA region is aimed at developing basic competences in facilitation of learning processes and providing learning oriented support for EVS volunteers.
The overall AIM is to support and empower EVS mentors through developing competences needed to facilitate the learning process of EVS volunteers. The specific OBJECTIVES of the project are - to improve professional competences of EVS mentors, which will help them to facilitate activities with young volunteers with learning orientated approach; - to deepen an understanding of the YouthPass process; - to provide space for practising and sharing experiences in facilitation in a safe and constructive environment; - to ensure deeper understanding of what is a learning process; - to develop essential facilitation skills; - to create a framework for facilitation based on non-formal education and self-directed learning; - to deepen the theoretical knowledge and understanding of the concept and implementation of facilitation as a tool to support the personal development/learning process of volunteers; - to bring a theoretical background of facilitation into a practical framework; - to establish the conditions for mentors to support each other after the course and to multiply competences they gained. PARTICIPANTS: TC "More than a friend" will bring together 30 EVS mentors from 7 countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine) who are interested in own further developments in the area of EVS mentoring. Participants profile: - having already some experience in mentoring, supporting and coaching EVS volunteers; - having a mandate from EVS accredited organisation located in one of 7 countries in Eastern Partnership region or Russia; - to be motivated to develop further own mentor’s competences as well as to share training acquirements with other mentors back in own environment; - having a working knowledge of English, the working language of the TC - available to actively attend the full duration of the course (arrival on Saturday 17th Oct. by the evening, departure on Saturday 24th Oct. from the morning); TEAM of the TC "More than a friend": Trainers team is composed by 3 trainers, experienced in EVS mentoring as well as having understanding of EECA peculiarities. Additionally, an officer from SALTO EECA will partly join the team and will support the training course.

Costs

The board and lodging during the training course for all participants will be provided by organisers. Travel costs of participants will be also covered by organisers [in case if they are more than 20 euro]). Participants need to cover their medical/travel insurance.

Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass:
