Money Compass

Training Course

2-9 May 2026 | Bansko, Bulgaria

Financial literacy training for youth workers combining non-formal education and AI tools. Participants learn practical methods to teach budgeting, financial decision-making, and digital skills to young people, especially those with fewer opportunities.

MoneyCompass is an international Erasmus+ training course designed for youth workers, trainers, facilitators and educators who are actively involved in non-formal education and youth work. The training focuses on strengthening the capacity of professionals working with young people to address financial literacy, entrepreneurship and digital skills through practical non-formal learning methods.

The activity will take place in Bulgaria and will gather youth workers from several European countries who work with young people, including those with fewer opportunities. The mobility period is 2–9 May, while 1 May and 10 May are travel days.

During the training, participants will explore key topics such as personal budgeting, financial planning, savings and debt management, inflation, and informed financial decision-making. In addition, the course will introduce participants to digital and AI-based tools that can support youth learning, including interactive simulations, quizzes and chatbot-based educational activities. The aim is not only to increase participants’ own financial literacy but also to equip them with practical methodologies they can transfer directly into their youth work practice.

The programme is based entirely on the principles of non-formal education. Participants will engage in experiential learning activities such as simulations, role plays, peer-learning sessions, group problem-solving exercises and the development of educational tools. The training will also create space for international exchange of good practices, allowing participants to share experiences from their local contexts and learn new approaches from other youth work organisations.

By the end of the activity, participants will have developed concrete skills, methods and educational resources that can be used to organise workshops and learning activities for young people in their local communities. They will also become multipliers of the project results, implementing follow-up activities and supporting young people in developing stronger financial awareness and responsible economic behaviour.
