Methods Matter

Training Course

26 May - 1 June 2026 | Pinos Genil (Granada), Spain

Methods Matter is a training course designed as a practical and focused learning space for newcomers’ youth leaders and youth workers who want to explore and strengthen their understanding of methodologies used in Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges.

The training will specifically focus on methodologies and facilitation approaches used during Youth Exchanges. It will not address other key aspects of project management such as application writing, budgeting, administration or reporting. Instead, the course concentrates on what happens within the activity itself: how to design and deliver meaningful learning experiences for young people.

Through non-formal education methods, participants will discover, test and analyse practical tools that support participation, intercultural learning, group dynamics and reflection. The course aims to provide concrete, adaptable methodologies that youth leaders can confidently apply in their own projects.

Special attention will be given to the role of youth leaders as facilitators of learning processes, their capacity to manage diverse groups, and their responsibility in creating inclusive, respectful and engaging environments.

While the course is accessible to participants with little or no prior experience, it is also open to those with some background who wish to deepen and refine their practices.

Objectives:

  • - To explore and understand key methodologies used in Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges.
  • - To strengthen facilitation competences and group management skills.
  • - To provide practical, ready-to-use non-formal education tools.
  • - To develop skills to foster participation, reflection and intercultural learning.
  • - To increase awareness and practice of inclusive approaches within group processes.
  • - To promote peer learning and exchange of practices among participants with diverse levels of experience.
