Mental Health "Egypt Edition"

Training Course

3-6 July 2026 | Alexandria, Egypt

We focus on the importance of mental health for young people who travel, volunteer or work with people from different cultures.

International youth exchanges offer powerful learning experiences, but they also come with responsibilities related to participants’ wellbeing, mental health, and safety. Youth workers and group leaders play a key role in creating supportive environments, preventing crises, and responding effectively when challenges arise.

This training course is designed for experienced youth workers, organisers, and group leaders  who wish to strengthen their competences in ensuring participant wellbeing and safety during international mobility activities.

The programme combines theoretical input, practical simulations, peer learning, and reflection. Participants will explore mental health and wellbeing in youth mobility contexts, develop practical strategies for crisis prevention and response, practice assertive communication, and reflect on their own wellbeing as professionals. Special attention is given to group building, holding safe and inclusive spaces, and linking wellbeing practices to the overall quality of youth exchange projects.

Goals & Objectives

Equip organisers and group leaders with practical tools for mental health support and crisis management
