Media Education Academy

Training Course

1-8 October 2026 | Comaruga, Spain

Media Education Academy is an Erasmus+ project helping educators develop media literacy, critical thinking, and digital safety skills through practical, game-based methods to navigate misinformation and online challenges.

Media Education Academy is a long-term Erasmus+ educational program designed for teachers, youth workers, trainers, and educators who want to strengthen media literacy, critical thinking, and digital safety among young people. The project responds to the challenges of today’s digital environment, including misinformation, information overload, AI-generated content, and online risks.

The Academy focuses on practical, hands-on learning. Participants gain ready-to-use tools, methods, and activities that can be directly applied in their educational practice. Through non-formal education and game-based approaches, complex topics such as media manipulation, cybersecurity, and responsible online behavior become accessible, engaging, and easy to transfer to different target groups.

The program is structured as a 3-stage learning journey, and participation is required in all three stages:

Stage 1 (Spain): Media literacy basics, critical thinking, and understanding how information is created and manipulated.

Stage 2 (Portugal): Cybersecurity, digital safety, and promoting responsible online behavior.

Stage 3 (Czech Republic): Game design and implementation, where participants develop and finalize their own educational tools.

Each stage builds on the previous one, combining theory, practice, creativity, and peer learning. Participants progressively design, test, and refine their own educational games or activities.

By the end of the Academy, participants are equipped not only with knowledge, but also with concrete outputs and the confidence to implement innovative, interactive learning methods in their communities.
