Training Course

18-28 February 2016 | Busteni, Romania

The project aim is to help youth workers to better understand how to form, manage and motivate a team of young people by using non formal education methods.
After conducting several projects in the youth work field, we realized that a big number of youth workers have a lack of team management and team development competences, in their work with big groups of young people (20-30). Our project was created in order to respond to this problem and to give a chance to youth workers from different countries and backgrounds to be in contact and to exchange good practices. The main project objectives are: 1. To better understand the different types of education (formal,non-formal,informal), their specific methods and their benefits in forming a team. 2. To implement non-formal education methods with groups between 15-30 people, being able to create their own team-building and trust building methods and to manage a group (communication, giving tasks, motivation and conflict management). 3. To have more trust in the abilities to work with big teams (20-30) of young people, to have a more open minded attitude towards young people, feel more motivated to implement projects in NGOs and to be eager to apply more non-formal methods within their groups. During the project participants will develop knowledge in: • Better and clear understanding how the team works • Different types of education (formal,non-formal, informal) and ways using them • Different types and ways of self-motivation and motivating others • SWOT analysis on them and their organization • Youthpass and 8 key competences • About different type of group members and ways to handle them • Different ways of conflict solving • Better understand the y.p. behavior • Working methods of involvement and managing young people • Erasmus+ and variety of its opportunities, focused mainly on Key Action 1 During the project participants will develop their skills: • Improved communication within group • Group management • Teambuilding • Creative use of non-formal methods • Developing new non-formal methods • Team development on different stages • Strategic planning • Analytical skills • Conflict solving • Transmitting tasks • Project writing During the project participants will change their Attitudes/behaviours: • Confidence towards working with big group of peoples • Keep motivated in working with big groups • More goal oriented • Creativity in team development • Wanting to involve more young people in the development of their community
