Making healthy living trendy - Alcohol prevention with attitude

Seminar

21-24 January 2016 | Helsinki, Finland

“Making healthy living trendy” is a 2-day seminar focusing in alcohol prevention and healthy lifestyle. The seminar is linking the Erasmus+ Youth in Action into the field of alcohol prevention for youth.
The seminar will motivate youth workers, youth leaders and young people to health and well-being issues. Learning will be done by sharing, discussing and planning various activities. The expert inputs will come from the field of research, media and alcohol prevention. They will give insight to research-based facts, grass root experiences and lifestyle trends. At the end of the seminar every participant will leave home with an idea and draft of an action plan how to make healthy living trendy. “Alcohol is one of the world’s leading health risks; use of alcohol is especially harmful for younger age groups. Europe is the heaviest drinking region of the world. Consumption levels in some countries are around 2.5 times higher than the global average. “Alcohol harm is disproportionately high among young people (115 000 deaths per year) alarmingly 43% among 15-16 year old European students reported heavy binge drinking during the past 30 days and alcohol is the single biggest cause of death among young men of age 16 to 24.” http://www.eurocare.org/resources/policy_issues/youth Aims and objectives - to acknowledge the risks of alcohol - sharing experiences in alcohol prevention work - to inspire participants in creating and supporting the Erasmus+ Youth in Action transnational youth initiatives and the mobility of youth workers
