The aim of this long-term training course is to train trainers from Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, who have the competencies and the motivation to contribute to the improvement of the quality of youth work in their countries.

Project “Eastern Partnership Youth Workers Academy” is a Capacity Building in the field of youth Erasmus+ KA2 project implemented by “MilleniuM” Training and Development Institute (from Moldova) in partnership with All-Ukrainian Association for Youth Co-operation Alternative-V (from Ukraine), Academy for Peace and Development (from Georgia), Institute for Policy Research and Analysis (from Lithuania), RED – Creative Effects' Workshop (from Latvia) and The Estonian Association of Youth Workers (from Estonia), with support of EACEA: Educational, Audiovisual & Culture Executive Agency.

The aim of the project is to increase the quality of youth work in partner countries (Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia) by preparing a pool of trainers who will provide national trainings for youth workers in their countries based on the local needs of youth workers, European best practices and European Training Strategy Competence Model for Youth Workers.

The objectives of the project are:

  • To analyze youth workers’ education opportunities in partner countries and how they cover the competencies named in ETS Competence Model for youth workers;
  • To train 21 trainers for developing national youth work educational training for local youth workers based on ETS Competence Model for youth workers;
  • To contribute to the competencies development of the 120 youth workers in partner countries by implementing national training for youth workers based on their needs and ETS Competence Model for youth workers;
  • To bring awareness on quality youth work and ETS Competence Model for youth workers;
  • To exchange good youth work practices between the Baltic States (Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia) and Eastern Partnership region (Moldova, Ukraine, and Georgia).
  • Based on the project experiences, draft the recommendations for youth work education improvements on the national level in six partner countries.

The central activity of the project is one-year long international Training of Trainers (LT ToT) and consists of:

  • Three residential seminars (Seminar 1: 2-10 August 2021 in Moldova; Seminar 2: 29 November - 7 December 2021 in Ukraine; Seminar 3: 28 February - 8 March 2022 in Georgia);
  • Three international field visits in the Baltic States (Lithuania – in September 2021; Latvia – in October 2021; Estonia – in November 2021);
  • One seminar at the national level organized by participants of LT ToT in each 6 partner countries for the local youth workers about ETS Competence Model for youth workers;
  • One training courses at the national level organized by participants of EaP ToT in each 6 partner countries for the local youth workers focused on competencies developments using the ETS Competence Model for youth workers;
  • Online work between the residential seminars;
  • Ongoing mentoring during all the duration of the project.

This course requires a considerable time investment from the participants: in total you should plan at least 73 days:

  • 27 seminar days (including travel)
  • 7 study visit days (including travel)
  • 12 days overall for the training project (preparatory work, prep meeting and the course itself)
  • 27 days (on average 1-2 days per month) for following the online work, peer learning, mentor talks etc.

For this LT ToT, the partner organizations will select 21 participants (by 4 participants from Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, and by 3 participants from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia).

To participate in LT ToT you have to be:

  • resident of Moldova, Georgia, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia or Lithuania.
  • more than 18 years old.
  • actively involved in youth work (as a regular volunteer or professional youth worker).
  • have been already involved at least three times in a team of trainers designing, implementing, and evaluating a training course in the framework of Non-Formal Education.
  • show initiative and willingness to self-direct their own learning process.
  • be prepared to reflect on and question their own beliefs and approaches as trainers.
  • interested to become a trainer and an ambassador of youth work in your country.
  • available and take commitment to participate in all the activities of EaP LT ToT (see the details below).
  • able to communicate in English.

Participation fee

There is no participation fee.

Accommodation and food

This project is financed by the Erasmus+: Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, costs for international activities (accommodation, travel, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the project. The partner organizations will provide materials and support for local activities. 

When applying, you commit to take part in the whole one-year long learning process and all training activities.  Organizers will sign the participation agreements with the selected candidates agreeing on duties and responsibilities.

IMPORTANT: Obtaining a PCR test, health and travel insurance for participation in the international project activities is the responsibility of participants and it is not covered by the project.

The project is implemented under the Erasmus+ program (2014-2020), so the travel cost will be reimbursed according to the distance calculator specified in the program guide.
