Lighthouse of the North - Light academy

Training Course

23-31 May 2025 | Hungary

A week-long training on art-based methodologies for human rights education will take place in Hungary (near Esztergom). The art-based methodologies will enable participants to engage vulnerable youth, foster inclusion and equality.

Lighthouse of the North: training and exchange of experiences between youth workers using arts-based methods and non-formal educational approaches

Do you live in Sweden, Ireland, or Hungary? Do you work with youth and want to empower them through social inclusion and identity-building? Are you eager to develop your skills, exchange ideas with like-minded colleagues, and explore new creative methods?

If you’re looking for inspiration, innovation, and hands-on experience, this is your chance! Join our Project to dive into art-based methods, peer-to-peer education, and turn fresh ideas into reality of your city. It’s a unique opportunity to collaborate, experiment, and upskill in a dynamic and supportive environment.

If you are:

  • A youth worker, trainer, or otherwise engaged in working with young people;
  • Passionate about inspiring young people, especially those from vulnerable communities;
  • Committed to promoting human rights and European identity;
  • Interested in using creative tools of non-formal education to achieve these goals;
  • Looking for opportunities to upgrade your skills and strengthen your professional capacity;
  • Eager to establish new professional contacts with peers from across the EU.

Art-focused: Modules will cover art-based methodologies, including visual storytelling, graphic facilitation, and game-based learning.
Human rights education: The program will address specific challenges faced by youth workers in diverse cultural contexts.
Collaborative: The course will involve participants in co-designing content through a peer-to-peer education approach, fostering collaboration and exchange of best practices from different countries.
