LET ME IN - participatory photography and digital storytelling will be used.

The context

 

If you:

- think outside the box;

- have a lot of interesting stories to share;

- care about diversity in your activities while working with people;

- haven’t heard of participatory photography;

- aren’t sure what digital storytelling is;

- work with people who are at risk of being discriminated;

- want to get out of your comfort zone;

- wish to try yourself in something new;

Then this training course is definitely for you. Together with other youth workers from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Spain we will try to tackle often difficult topics, which cannot be expressed with words. We will also discover the power of images and realise how rarely we observe what’s around us. And most importantly, we will try to find a way to include those who sometimes struggle with acceptance in society.

Let’s meet all together and do our best to make inclusion happen.

The methods
The methods of participatory photography and digital storytelling are based on assumption that everyone`s voice matters, people are experts on their own lives and that y using simple photography and video techniques they can raise issues that are important for their communities and act to make a real change. Participatory art methods is empowering young people and giving them voice that can help them undertake action. The concrete digital skills related to digital storytelling and participatory photography will be introduced to a comprehensive methodology on the use of these tools in the context of youth work.

For this project we are looking for youth workers fulfilling the following criteria:

  • actively involved in the work of an NGO (preferably as staff members)
  • experienced in working with youth with a proven track record of successful
  • projects for youngsters at risk
  • able to communicate freely in English
  • committed to organize dissemination events and provide quality project visibility
  • being a legal resident in one of the participating countries (Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Spain)
  • Being in contact with our partners'sending organizations.
