Improving Youth work on International projects (I.Y.I. Youth Work)

Training Course

11-17 October 2022 | ISTANBUL, Türkiye

The importance of youth work in the society but the interest and the opportunities for youth work development still remain limited.

We are all talking about the importance of youth work in the society but the interest and the opportunities for youth work development still remain limited. Because of the lack of support, youth workers face challenges to maintain and further develop the quality of their work, especially in a booming digital world. We are also talking about youth entrepreneurship and its importance, but do we really offer the resources needed. The project seeks to address the youth-led international and transnational transformation of intelligent and sustainable employment through entrepreneurship offering significant opportunities for young people. Transnationality is important because quality youth work has become more international and cross-border and transnational collaboration will be essential to develop and supply the youth work services of the future.

Objectives:

  • To examine youth work quality systems in partner countries and explore how common indicators or frameworks may be developed.
  • To give the background, considerations and understanding of key terms, including a working definition of youth work.
  • To discuss non-formal and informal learning which plays a key role at youth work.
  • To respond to the different needs, interests and experiences of youth workers that need to be considered and engaged in the youth work process.
  • To meet and constructively relate to the knowledge and expectations of youth workers in general and other actors in the youth field.
