Improving Volunteer Participation in NGOs: Creating Meaningful Engagement Among Young People

Seminar

17 November 2026 | Online, Spain

Explore practical ways to engage, support and empower young volunteers through meaningful volunteering experiences, peer exchange and good practices in youth work.

How can organisations create meaningful volunteering experiences, maintain volunteers' motivation and empower young people to take an active role in their communities?

Organised within the framework of the LOOM Intercultural Learning Network, this interactive webinar will bring together youth workers, educators, volunteers and representatives of youth organisations from across Europe to exchange experiences, practical tools and good practices in volunteer engagement and management.

The webinar will explore three interconnected dimensions:

  • ENGAGE: Creating the right conditions for a positive volunteering experience through effective preparation, clear expectations and collaboration between sending and hosting organisations.
  • SUPPORT: Maintaining motivation, strengthening mentoring practices and addressing challenges or early signs of disengagement.
  • EMPOWER: Moving beyond participation towards ownership, helping volunteers develop skills, take initiative and contribute actively to their local communities.

Through practical examples, interactive discussions and a best-practice exchange, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on common challenges, share solutions and discover approaches they can apply within their own organisations.

Date: 17 November 2026
Time: 15:00 GMT (16:00 CET)
