HAY rural youth work

Study Visit

22-28 September 2025 | Armenia

In a group of rural youth workers and leaders we will visit a number of organisations around Armenia, learn from their experiences and network for future youth projects.

The OBJECTIVES of the project focusing at rural and small town youth work are to:

  • develop participants professional competencies,
  • exchange practices and experiences,
  • network for future youth projects,
  • discover rural and small town youth work and communities in Armenia.

TARGET GROUP: the project targets youth workers, youth leaders and projects coordinators involved in rural youth work in their countries. The initial plan is to have balanced group of up to 24 participants, including at least 8 from Eastern Europe and the Caucasus.

In the planned activity, we would like to combine different learning FORMATS, allowing participants to deepen their learning and benefit fully from their stay in Armenia. We plan:

  • quality time to exchange experiences and network among participants;
  • small groups job-shadowings in small towns' Open Youth Centres (Armavir, Echmiadzin, Gavar and Artik);
  • study visits to Local Action Groups in rural communities of Shirak region;
  • local community experience in Aparan, the Armenian Youth Capital 2025;
