Growing Together

Growing Together project connects youth workers motivated to support learning, participation and inclusion of young parents in their communities. The aim is to provide youth workers an opportunity to develop their competencies and toolkit needed to work with young parents - people who have had a baby before the age of 25. 

The project rises the question why young parents are often not seen as a target group of youth work and why there are so few activities that are tailored for their needs - at European level in international mobilities but also in local activities and youth spaces which often do not explicitly welcome young parents. We hope to make youth work more inclusive towards young parents and create more participation and learning opportunities to young parents in our communities and countries.

We welcome youth workers, facilitators, trainers and mentors, motivated to empower young parents, especially to foster their active participation in their communities and to contribute to creating more supportive and more inclusive environments.

During the training course, 26 youth workers will share methods and tools that they already use in their work with young parents, as well as develop and test new methods. A special focus will be put on learning methods that allow parents participate in activities together with their children providing learning benefits for both, children and adults.
