Greenvep: volunteering for a greener world

Training Course

17-23 September 2025 | El Burgo (Málaga), Spain

Greenvep is a training course uniting youth from 7 countries to become leaders in promoting volunteering in education, with a focus on climate change, sustainability, and gender equality.

In 2012, the first INVEP pilot project was launched, yielding such promising results that the partners expanded the initiative. In 2015, the “INVEP Taking Off Seminar” was held in Spain, gathering organizations from Spain, Turkey, Palestine, Jordan, Greece, and Italy to implement an enhanced version of the project. This collaboration led to the official establishment of INVEP.

A decade later, INVEP is launching Greenvep: Volunteering for a Greener World, recognizing the critical contribution of community volunteers to climate action. While the project emphasizes community and environmental resilience, a critical element of this work involves promoting equitable participation by addressing social and structural barriers that often limit involvement based on gender.

The training will take place in a natural environment, serving multiple purposes: providing a break from the noise and stress of everyday life, helping participants reconnect with nature, strengthening personal bonds among them and exploring . This setting will foster the creation of international networks of cooperation and care—essential at this key moment of resilience and adaptation in the face of ongoing climate change. Moreover, the project aims to generate imaginative and creative collective knowledge to help navigate the new and uncertain realities brought about by the climate crisis.

After the training, the participants will run at the local places 1-2 training courses for young/intergenerational people of their communities so that the participants become volunteers in environmental/social projects already running in their local communities ( or even set up new volunteering actions).
