Training Course

6-15 September 2019 | Sweden

Global Coaching is an educational program consisting of 2 separate training courses. TC2, is a unique training course about global justice, with the purpose of increasing awareness and knowledge about global power structures and injustice.

*TC1 of Global Coaching was held in Februrary 2019 by Egyesek Youth Association, and focused on coaching and mentoring tools.* 
TC2 taking place in September is organised by PeaceWorks Sweden and fouces on global justice, gender structures and education.

WHAT IS THE AIM?

To make youth workers within the civil society sector aware of themes regarding democracy and oppressing structures such as:

  • racism
  • imperialism
  • economical inequality & injustice

WHAT CAN YOU GET OUT OF IT?

  • Intersectional knowledge about global justice, oppressive structures and democracy.
  • Concrete tools in planning, implementing and evaluating projects aiming for social change.
  • Increased knowledge about gender structures.
  • Understanding the implication of volun-tourism: a critical perspective on charity work.
  • International solidarity - how can we collaborate?

ALSO, EXPECT

  • Self-reflection about one's position of power in relation to one's target group.
  • Reflecting upon the implication of social work and volunteering in a post-colonial world.
  • Critical reflection of social norms while understanding that they are not intrinsically bad.

THIS TRAINING IS FOR YOU, IF ...

  • You are a youth worker who has been working directly with young people for at least 6 months
  • Your target group involves young people with different social backgrounds
  • You are willing to reflect upon local and global power structures, as well as your role in reproducing them
  • You are over the age of 18

Participation fee

There is a contribution of 60 € to be paid in cash upon arrival.

Accommodation and food

Accommodation, food, training materials are provided.

Travel reimbursement

Travel reimbursement is provided up to the following limit:

Bulgaria, Greece and Spain: 530 €

Hungary, France and Romania: 360 €

Lithuania: 275 €

Sweden: 20 €
