Because of Tender problems, we cannot get a venue for this course in time - so we have to postpone and open applications later. >> Did you know you can get funding for volunteering projects for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds? Come and discover in this beginner's course how you can organise volunteering activities for inclusion in the European Solidarity Corps.

Discover the potential of volunteering projects for inclusion

In 3 training days, we show you the possibilities that volunteering (within the European Solidarity Corps) has to offer for young people from disadvantaged or underprivileged backgrounds. A volunteering project might just be the life-changing opportunity for the disadvantaged young people you are working with: e.g. those from minority backgrounds, with access needs, with socio-economic difficulties, discriminated groups, in difficult situations, with limited opportunities, geographical disadvantage, health issues…

Why participate?

Volunteering is a rewarding methodology to reach your organisation’s inclusion aims.

Come and experience the benefits that international cooperation can have for your organisation and young people with fewer opportunities. Explore the funding possibilities of the European Solidarity Corps and specific inclusion support. Learn to design a volunteering project step-by-step (sending or hosting, individual or in group, international or in-country). Discover the various resources available for volunteering and inclusion. Get inspired by local examples and fellow participants.

At the end of the course, you will be ready to start organising a volunteering project with/by/for the young people with fewer opportunities with your organisation.

Who is the course for?

  • This course is for NEWCOMERS to European Solidarity Corps (e.g. youth workers, social workers...) who are directly working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds (e.g. facing social, economic, educational, geographic, cultural, health & disability challenges)
  • If you NEVER organised volunteering activities in the European Solidarity Corps with the young people with fewer opportunities whom you are working with and would like to know what is possible, then this course is for you!
  • If you already organised ESC volunteering projects, please check the European Training Calendar for a more appropriate youth work training courses because this 'Volunteering for ALL' course is for NEWCOMERS ;-)
  • This course is NOT for school-related activities such as school exchanges or projects for pupils (please contact the Lifelong Learning colleagues of Erasmus+ for this).

The course has a few places for applicants from neighbouring regions of the European Union (South-East Europe, Eastern Partnership Region, EuroMed region).

Important to know

  • The working language will be (international) English. Your English does not have to be perfect, but you need to be able to follow presentations and have discussions in English.
  • There will be a 2-hour online preparation meeting via zoom, two weeks prior to the event.
  • We are open to cater for different needs so that everybody can participate (e.g. also persons with a disability or health condition, single mothers, persons with geographical disadvantage...). Contact SALTO Inclusion tony@salto-youth.net regarding support possibilities.
  • You will be by default accommodated in twin rooms (a great opportunity to get to know a colleague youth worker better), but if you have a specific reason to have a single room, we can cater for that (we will ask your preference for room sharing once you are selected).
