Get Going on EVS: European Voluntary Service

Training Course

25-28 May 2016 | Emmaus, Swords co. Dublin, Ireland

This residential training course is aimed at organisations or staff who are new to EVS. The aim is to introduce participants to the key areas of quality in EVS so that they are in a position to develop an EVS project.
We are pleased to announce an international event taking place in Swords county Dublin at Emmaus (www.emmauscentre.ie) from May 25th to May 29th, 2016. The content of this training will build on our regional Get Going on EVS events that took place in January 2016. This time around, we aim to add depth to your understanding of EVS and to explain the key elements of a successful project in more detail. It is not necessary to have attended a regional workshop but participants should have a basic understanding of EVS and should be from an accredited sending or hosting organisations (or an organisation in the process of becoming accredited). This event is open to participants from both Ireland and the UK, providing a great opportunity for networking and even partner-finding! Participants will be introduced to the key areas of quality in EVS so that they are in a position to develop an EVS project, including: • Setting project objectives in the context of Erasmus+ and EVS • EVS Project Lifecycle • Roles & Responsibilities of all parties • Finding Partners. The importance of good partnerships • Recruitment and selection • Practical arrangements – travel, visas, accommodation, food, volunteer’s allowance, Insurance, language lessons • Preparing (Sending), Induction, Supervising, Mentoring and supporting the volunteer • Supporting non-formal learning / Youthpass • Developing a work programme • Risk Management • Sharing the results of your project By the end of the training, participants should be in a position to complete an EVS funding application.
