Gecko (Greek Economy - Crisis Ko)

How to reconcile the struggle against climate change and environmental protection by developing youth employment? On this theme, we have decided to propose a training course in order to promote the development of entrepreneurship among young people and to act concretely against climate change.

The aim of the project is to create real European dynamics in terms of entrepreneurship in the sector of ecological transition. The choice of Greece as a host organisation of the training is not without symbolism. It is a country that has been badly affected by the economic crisis of 2008 and which still has a very high rate of youth unemployment. Within the framework of the objectives, we have chosen the name GecKO for this training in reference to this lizard who lives a lot in Greece and who is able to adapt to all situations

The program

#Practical workshops: In order to help young people in difficulty, especially in terms of reading and practice of English, we provide explanations of the workshops by pictograms to explain the progress of the workshops.

#Visits of companies: The primary purpose of these visits is exchange. In order to make these exchanges as "effective" as possible, we plan to set up interview schedules, so that we do not forget important questions and, above all, provide a common thread and finally, allow all young people to express themselves and to be able to ask questions.

#Project building workshops: We focus these workshops on the practical and playful side of participation, exchange, non-judgment, and nonformal education. All comments and suggestions will be illustrated with examples.

#Conference/debate: We also approach the topics by using the active methods of debating, including the setting up of moving debates, skits, and other supports that can favor the positioning and voice of participants.

Since 2004, 3PA develops activities in the field of ecological transition. For 10 years, we have oriented our activities headed for the young people NEETs on the subject of environmental and ecological transition by the prism of employment and jobs which are related to.

Covid Info: Due to COVID19, all necessary sanitary protocols will be followed. Entering Greece is allowed to all countries with either a certificate of vaccination, negative PCR test or certificate that they have recovered COVID19. As we will be slowly approaching the dates of the project, we will be able to share new info about the entry requirements. In case there is a need for a PCR test for your participants, this cost will be covered by the travel expenses as was suggested by our NA. So participants shall take this into account when they will be at the position to book their tickets.
