Training Course

6-12 October 2022 | Rabka-Zdrój, Poland

This training course focuses on learning and practicing gamification techniques specifically with digital tools, with the goal of improving the participants' digital competencies. Tools include Google Suite, Jamboard, Discord, Miro.

As youth workers, we are presented with a lot of challenges in our field of work. Young people are the fastest to change and adopt new habits and trends, and we need to keep up. While young people are nowadays considered "digital citizens", often, youth workers are having a harder time leveraging the variety of digital tools available to reach out to young people, especially considering that many tools are short-lived. This training course aims to familiarize youth workers not only with sustainable digital tools, but also to increase their digital competencies in order to understand the underlying nature of said tools. Workshops during the training will focus more on practice and specific tools to be used as learning examples. Furthermore, we will also explore gamification techniques which can be used to enhance the appeal of both activities and dissemination procedures, as well as make in introduction to game-based learning methodology as a tool for youth workers.

The goal is for youth workers to be able to quickly learn new tools and adapt their methodologies to include them.

The objective are:
-understand the basic principles underlying digital tools enhance the digital competency of the participants
-acquire practical, hands-on experience using a selection of digital tools explore gamification techniques and tools in order to create more appealing activities for youth and increase outreach
-become acquainted with game-based learning methodology through example
-train the participants to utilize digital tools effectively to achieve their goals

Participation fee

No participation fee required.

Accommodation and food

Food and accomodation is provided.

Travel reimbursement

Travel costs will be reimbursed according to the Erasmus+ travel reimbursement rules. On average the maximum reimbursement is 275 euros, with the option for Green Travel raising it to 320.
