GameIN: Gamified and Digital Methods for Youth Participation

How gamification could be use as a tool to enhance youth participation in civic and political life? Through innovative methods and practical examples, participants will explore how game-based approaches can motivate young people to actively engage.

In this session, youth workers, educators, and non-formal learning professionals will discover how gamification can be used to engage young people in civic participation. The session will explore methods and examples of how gamified activities can encourage youth involvement in decision-making processes, while promoting democratic values and social responsibility.

15:00-15:10 – Welcome & Introduction. Overview of the GameIN project in numbers, highlighting key achievements and impact.

15:10-15:20 – Guidelines for gamified youth participation. Exploring key steps, best practices, and real-life examples for designing engaging and meaningful participation experiences for young people.

15:20-15:40 – Empowering Youth Participation: The Idea Competition & Concrete Solutions. How the Idea Competition promotes youth involvement in creating ideas that encourage peers to participate in civic and political life. Concrete solutions developed by young participants will be presented, showcasing the power of creativity to drive engagement.

15:40-15:50 – Gamie.org: Introducing the method bank and network of pioneers for gamification in youth work in Europe

15:50-16:00 – Open Discussion. A final interactive session to discuss the results, share feedback, and explore the next steps in enhancing youth participation through gamification.
