From Life Balance to Global Responsibility

Training Course

19-28 September 2018 | Liepāja, Latvia

The Training Course designed to provide a complex learning experience for youth workers, so they can better understand the importance of Life Balance in their life and use that knowledge in their daily work with youngsters
The Training Course 'From Life Balance to Global Responsibility' will bring together 26 participants from 7 European countries. In every area, industry or non-governmental organizations, a large workload coupled with constant global connectivity has erased the boundaries between work and personal time. Technological advancement, competition during study and on the workplaces in our society produces a lot stress in everyday life. In the official World Health Organization website we can observe how 27% of the adult population (aged between 18 and 65) had experienced at least one of a series of mental disorders in the past year. Now the depression prevalence is estimated to affect 350 million people worldwide. These disorders often start at a young age for this reason it’s important to focus on the sustainability of protective factors and the reduction of risk factors globally "Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." - The World Health Organization constitution states. Health is the gateway to balance and happiness. If you are not living with your fullest vibrancy and energy, how can you expect to make the best of your life, to provide help to other people and act as a conscious and Globally Responsible person? Objectives of the project: - Increase awareness about Life Balance in the frame of Global Responsibility among youth workers - Empower youth workers with tools, methods, and ways to understand Life Balance and Global Responsibility and act as multipliers on these issues - Create a shift in youth minds from personal to Global Responsibility - Create a platform for youth workers who work in the field of health and Life Balance, to exchange ideas and share teaching methods. - Develop a guidebook for youth workers about Life Balance in the frame of Global Responsibility, which will contain knowledge, tools, resources, and material The target group: youth workers, social workers, group leaders, youth leaders, trainers, volunteers. The background of our target group is those who: feel “overwhelmed” from the work, who have a need to understand better how to feel balance in their life and pass this knowledge within their organisations and young people they work with. Various non formal activities designed for this project are meant to leave a mark on the participants’ lives on a physical, psychological and mental level. Thus, participants by starting taking care about their personal Life Balance will move from the individual to society and the world, from local to Global. Practical knowledge they gain during this TC and exchange with other youth workers, they will significantly improve, motivation to work in the field of health, Life Balance, Global Responsibility, satisfaction of their work, sense of initiative and thus their future career perspectives.
