FACILITATION GUIDE FOR YOUTH WORK: GENERIC

Training Course

25 July - 3 August 2025 | EJBW, Weimar, Germany

With this Training Course, we are aiming to provide a generic training course on key competences of trainers/facilitators to build competences of youth workers in organizing engaging educational activities.

The Long Term Training Ccourse "Facilitation Guide" aims to build competences of youth workers in organizing, implementing and evaluating engaging educational activities and to structure the learning process in the effective way in order for young people to fully benefit from youth work addressing current issues of nowadays and youth empowerment at local level as well as support youth workers’ self-assessment and personal and professional development.

The dates:

Part 1: 25 July-03 August 2025 (Weimar, Germany)

Part 2: 04-12 October 2025 (Tenerife, Spain)

Training objectives: 

  • To evaluate competences of youth workers and further develop them in a safe training environment
  • To build a necessary set of competences for proficient use of NFE instruments and tools for youth empowerment at local level
  • To develop essential facilitation competences
  • To discover diverse facilitation techniques and tools for inclusive youth wor
  • To increase youth workers’ awareness regarding their own values, beliefs, attitudes and behaviour, regarding cultural and self expression (considering the public speaking skills, body language, gestures, positioning, use of space, mimics, graphics etc.) and about own communication patterns in various (learning) settings
  • To reflect on personal values and ethics in education and youth work
  • To promote networking and cooperation between educators and support follow-up initiatives

Background of participants: 

  • Should be 18 years old or over
  • Should be able to communicate in English
  • Involved in youth work or NFE activities with young people
  • Participant should participate in the whole duration of the LTTC
  • Interested in learning and developing themselves as facilitators/ trainers
  • Should be ready to promote activities in own community after the training course ends
