Training Course

14-22 May 2026 | Chisinau, Moldova

To enhance the competence of youth workers in designing and implementing inclusive educational processes based on adapted non-formal learning methods for diverse groups of youth, including young people with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups.

FACILITAID is an international training course aimed at strengthening the facilitation competencies of youth workers and youth NGO representatives working with diverse and mixed-ability groups. The training will be held in Russian and will bring together participants from different countries to exchange experience, develop practical tools, and explore inclusive approaches in youth work.

The project focuses on improving participants’ ability to design and facilitate inclusive learning processes based on adapted non-formal education methods. Special attention will be given to working with heterogeneous groups of young people, including participants with disabilities and those with fewer opportunities. Through a combination of experiential learning, peer exchange, and practical exercises, participants will gain tools that can be directly applied in their youth work practice.

The course will provide a safe and supportive learning environment where participants can test facilitation techniques, experiment with adapted educational methods, and reflect on their own practice. By the end of the training, participants will develop concrete tools and strategies to make youth activities more accessible and inclusive.

Objectives of the training

The main objective of the training is to enhance participants’ competencies in facilitating inclusive learning processes and adapting non-formal education methods for mixed-ability groups.

By the end of the training participants will:

  • deepen their understanding of inclusive youth work and the principles of non-formal education;
  • develop practical facilitation skills for working with diverse and heterogeneous groups;
  • learn how to adapt activities and learning environments for participants with different needs and abilities;
  • exchange practices and methods used by youth workers from different countries;
  • co-create a set of adapted exercises suitable for mixed-ability groups;
  • develop an Inclusion Checklist for planning inclusive youth activities;
  • design individual action plans for implementing inclusive methods in their organisations.

Target group

The training is aimed at:

  • youth workers and youth NGO representatives;
  • trainers, facilitators, educators and youth leaders;
  • professionals working with diverse groups of young people;
  • motivated participants interested in developing inclusive youth work practices.

Participants are expected to be actively involved in youth work and willing to transfer the knowledge and tools gained during the training to their organisations and local communities.

Methodology

The training is based on the principles of non-formal education and experiential learning. The programme will include interactive workshops, group work, simulations, facilitation practice, reflection sessions, and peer learning. Participants will actively contribute their own experience and test different facilitation methods in a multicultural learning environment.

Special emphasis will be placed on practical learning, allowing participants to experiment with adapted activities and reflect on how these methods can be transferred to their local youth work contexts.

Impact and follow-up

Participants are expected to actively participate in all stages of the training and to organise a follow-up activity in their local communities after the project. These activities will help transfer the knowledge, tools, and inclusive methods developed during the training to a wider audience of young people and youth workers.
