Do you have any inspiring activity about democracy or participation and you want to share with others ? Do you have ideas that you can put into action in your organization to foster participation and improve democracy? Then this is your event, come to celebrate and share!!! Don't miss it!

It is a 3-day cross-border event between Portugal and Spain to celebrate the 9th edition of the European Youth Week 2019, this year under the topic “Democracy and me”.

Through: Thematic workshops, debates, creation of promotional activities and other activities to share and celebrate, putting the spotlight on inspiring stories of the people and informing about the benefits of E+ - partly through the sharing of past experiences of ex-participants and street actions to celebrate and advocate for Democracy.

Main objective:

To celebrate the contribution young people make to Europe and to encourage young people to participate in Erasmus+ and in the democratic life. In this event we want to learn, share and celebrate.

Specific objectives:

Analyze the positive impact of the Erasmus+ program through different levels such as:

• Involvement of young people in decision making

• Recognition and celebration of the added value of EU programs to foster democracy and participation through dialogue

• Promotion of participation of young people in various forms, especially young people with fewer opportunities and their active participation in the political, economic and social life

Methodology:

During the event participants will first explore a set of key concepts, share and analyze best practices while doing a constant match between their own national/regional realities and trying to then identify common aspects between both countries, as well as exploring the local reality.

The methodology of the event is based on the principles of non-formal education. Learning from experience will be a fundamental pillar in the way the activity will be facilitated.
