EVS GPS -Finding your way in the Youthpass landscape

Training Course

26 May - 1 June 2014 | Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

This training course invites EVS mentors to a unique learning journey in an international setting, in order to equip them with competences to facilitate volunteers’ learning through the Youthpass process.
Mentors of EVS volunteers, YOU are responsible for supporting the Youthpass process! Do you agree? Do you find this difficult? Do you wonder how to support the learning process of someone else? If you have these questions and more, if you want to find answers, then this training is for you. During the training course you will have the opportunity to explore, reflect, and question your understanding of learning. You will be supported to develop your own approach and action plan to help EVS volunteers on their learning journey. In order to gain that, you will be guided through your own pathway of learning, supporting and being supported by the other participants in order to achieve a greater understanding of the entire Youthpass process. The aim of the training course The aim of the training course is to develop and improve the ability of EVS mentors to support the Youthpass process in EVS projects. Objectives • To raise the awareness and competences on how to use Youthpass as a tool for learning and self-assessment in EVS; • To increase the understanding of theories and concepts of learning and facilitation of learning; • To experience the dialogue process related to the identification and assessment of the learning outcomes; • To explore and identify potential learning situations in EVS project cycle; • To learn how to support volunteers in documenting and assessing their learning; • To develop an action plan for supporting the EVS volunteers learning through the Youthpass process; Target group: The training course targets mentors in EVS receiving organisations responsible for supporting the Youthpass process. The selected participants are expected to have the basic knowledge and/or experience in EVS in order to be able to benefit from the training. Additionally, the selected participants should be able to communicate and work in English and be above 18 years old. (Note for National Agencies: This activity is financed by YiA TCP 2013)
