European Tobacco Youth Conference

The European Tobacco Youth Conference is a youth event that will focus on tobacco policy and youth and will happen in Izola, Slovenia between 15th and 21st September 2013. The event is developing structured dialogue between youth and decision-makers.
The European Tobacco Youth Conference is a youth event that will focus on tobacco policy and youth and will happen in Izola, Slovenia between 15th and 21st September 2013.
Its main aims are to:
•Establish a network of young people and youth organizations that work on tobacco in Europe,
•Develop and share skills needed for successful advocacy on tobacco policy in Europe,
•Update the participants of the Conference with the latest developments on the tobacco policy field in Europe and worldwide, and
•Present good practice in youth organizations on the field,
•Plan further action on the field of tobacco and youth in Europe.
ETYC will host 75 young Europeans from 17 countries to express their thoughts and suggestions to different European experts and decision makers. It is financed by the European Commission's Youth in Action Programme (Action 5.1.)
ETYC will mainly deal with 3 topics:
•tobacco policy,
•activities of the tobacco industry, and
•prevention and cessation of smoking.
The product of several workshops will be an action plan for future cooperation on the field of youth and tobacco.
Eligible participants
Due to a strict EU process for accreditation of promoters and restriction of age limits by the Youth in Action Programme, we are only able to host young participants aged 15 to 30 from the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Spain, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, United Kingdom, Croatia and Turkey.
Financial Background
The organizers will cover 100% of the food, accommodation and local travel during the conference, while the participants will cover the participation fee and 30% of their travel costs to and from the event.
