European Citizenship Academy Seminar

Seminar

6-11 October 2025 | Hendaye, France

The European Citizenship Academy Seminar aims to create spaces for learning, exchange and professional (and personal) development for young youth workers about the European Union and education on Europe.

This seminar is address to youth workers/youth leaders, who want to act as peer educators on the topic of the European Union.

The objectives of the seminar are to:

  • Contribute to a better appropriation of the EU by young people - knowledge and understanding
  • Facilitate and strengthen their participation as informed citizens
  • To support youth workers in undertaking work on European education with their target groups
  • Initiate sustainable partnerships between European organisations to work on the subject of education about Europe
  • Produce clear, intelligible and relevant information that can be developed by and with young people to encourage their participation.

The project aims to bring real added value to youth work and to strengthen the impact that youth workers can have on young people in the construction of Europe and can have on young people in shaping the future of the European Union by investing in peer education, a method that has proved its worth in many sectors.

Non-formal education will be at the heart of the seminar, including role-plays, debates and ideathon to make the participants gain knowledge about the European Union and skills about how to integrate that topic in activities involving young people in their local environment.

This project being much focused on peer-education, applications from young people will be an asset.
