The aim of this training course is to equip youth workers with key skills in non-formal education, including session design, group facilitation, and public speaking, enabling effective learning delivery.

The training course “Equipping Youth Workers with Necessary Competences” aims to equip youth workers with the essential skills and knowledge to design and deliver effective non-formal education activities. Participants will gain a solid understanding of the fundamentals of non-formal education, while developing practical skills in session design, group facilitation, and public speaking.

Our project objectives are:

  • To provide 25 youth workers with a solid understanding of non-formal education, including its core principles, session planning and delivery, and adapting activities to the needs of disadvantaged youth.
  • To develop participants’ practical skills in session design, group facilitation, and public speaking, including effective group management and handling challenges during activities.
  • To strengthen youth workers’ confidence in leading and facilitating non-formal educational sessions by the end of the 10-month project.

This project is mainly addressed to:

  • Youth workers that are currently working with young people
  • Youth workers that are new in the youth field but are actively volunteering in an organization
  • Trainers that want to improve their competences
  • Teachers that want to start a training carrier and that are already involved in extracurricular activities
  • Volunteers in non-profit organizations 

Age limit: over 18

Participants in this training course:

  • will gain practical experience in designing and delivering non-formal education activities
  • will learn how to plan and adapt sessions based on the needs of different groups, especially disadvantaged youth
  • will strengthen their skills in facilitation, public speaking, and leading engaging activities
  • will develop the ability to manage group dynamics and handle challenging situations during activities
  • will explore and apply a variety of non-formal methods through learning-by-doing
  • will increase their confidence in leading and facilitating educational sessions
  • will exchange experiences and good practices in a supportive, international environment
  • will learn how to select and use effective tools and activities in youth work
  • will gain guidance on supporting young people facing social, economic, or personal challenges
  • will improve their ability to reflect on their practice and continue developing as facilitators
