ENVIRONMAINTENANCE - IN SERVICE TRAINING
6 identical training courses; (to choose 1) that will take place in the island of Malta in early 2014. The courses bring together a team of experts in terrestrial and marine environments and their protection. Course includes scuba diving with instructors.
This EU FUNDED project is only available for members of the EU, Pre-Accession and EFTA Countries! Applicants will have to apply directly to the National Agencies (NA) of their countries for funding. CHOOSE ANY ONE OF THE 6 IDENTICAL TRAININGS!
Through this project, the participants will become more aware of the different pillars of sustainability and assess
the level of awareness of this topic in their countries. They will discover and experiment with different methods of
sustainability in an international arena where different ideas can be shared. The participants may then go back to
their home countries and implement these new ideas and concepts in their own businesses or pass these ideas
down to their pupils or peers.
This course aspires to reach the above aims through the following objectives:
1) To create awareness about the visible and invisible threats to the environment.
2) To inform people on current methods being implemented to protect, maintain and restore the environment.
3) To touch and view these hazards through onsite visits in recycle plants and companies tackling environmental
maintenance.
4) To tackle the fact that adults did not have this sort of information in their primary and secondary schooling
and that they too need to be informed.
5) To increase networking and international - intercultural cooperation between the sending organisations and
their European networks.
6) To learn alternative ways of teaching / learning about sustainability and the environment.
7) To learn about organic farming, sustainable fish farming and sustainable fishing and husbandry.
8) To learn about the LLP and its competences.
The project will happen in 6 different sessions from January to April with the dates being

THE TRAINING WILL BE IN THE FORM OF A SEMINAR TOUCHING THE IMPORTANT TOPICS OF ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION AND MAINTENANCE; THERE WILL BE INDOOR AND OUTDOOR INTERACTIVE ACTIVITIES SUCH AS HIKES, FIELD TRIPS, SCUBA DIVING AND TOURING THE ISLANDS' BEAUTIFUL MEDIEVAL TOWNS AND VILLAGES.

Doing charity work for local charitable institutions in Malta via fund-raising activities and project management of their projects
Regularly creating team and group building events and activities on a monthly basis to give the TDM members the opportunity to meet in a leisure atmosphere
