ENGAGING YOUTH IN CLIMATE

Training Course

27 October - 3 November 2022 | Alozaina, Spain

This TC aims to share innovative tools to cope and engage with the climate crisis in youth work through the Work That Reconnects methodology (deep ecology). It is addressed to youth workers and change-makers committed to the eco-social crisis.

With this TC, we aim to provide a transformative experience that you can replicate back home. We need systemic responses to respond to the ecological and climate crisis, not merely individual acts.

Raw data about the climate is not enough. As the big mess we are in, becomes increasingly clear, we need to address the emotional dimension of the crisis to develop purpose and connect with our responsibility, while coping with anxiety, grief, etc.

We will connect personal growth and sociopolitical transformation, through a collective process. This is the innovative approach we want to share.

The methodology we use is based on non-formal learning, which means participants are invited to take part actively. Activities are designed to discuss, play, move and reflect.

We are looking for participants who are really concerned about the climate crisis and have the willingness and the possibility to engage youth in climate action, but also their organizations and community.

What will you learn?

- The current climate and ecological situation.

- Practices to deal with the difficult emotions that this may trigger and which will make our work sustainable.

- Innovative practices to apply with groups and in your own life.

- Useful tools and resources to engage youth in climate action
