Empathic Way: Your Journey of Non-Violent communication

Explore the magic of Non-Violent communication by Marshall Rosenberg, as a tool that can be used to build trust, respect, empathy and resolve conflicts.

Nonviolent Communication (also known as NVC or compassionate communication) is a method of communicating created by psychologist Marshall Rosenberg based on universal human feelings and needs. The purpose of NVC is to create empathy and foster healthier communication and conflict resolution.

Empathic Way project consists of 2 in-person trainings in Latvia.
!! Participants who apply must make sure they can attend both trainings and are ready to actively engage in practice period in between them. 

TC #1 | summer 2024 | 20.08 - 29.08 (including travel days)

TC #2 | autumn 2024 | 14.11 - 23.11 (including travel days)

Practice period is a 2 months period (september-october) in between both trainings. In this time participants solidify what they have learned by facilitating an NVC event, doing "NVC buddy calls", journaling and sharing their exeprience with wider community. This is mandatory step if you want to join.

Project objectives are:
1. provide comprehensive training in Marshall Rosenberg's Non-Violent Communication enhancing participants communication, empathy, and conflict resolution skills.

2. enable youth workers to build stronger, more empathetic relationships with young people, fostering a supportive and understanding environment.

3. improve youth workers' abilities to effectively handle and resolve conflicts among youth and in work place using NVC methods.

4. facilitate the personal and professional growth of youth workers by enhancing their communication skills and emotional intelligence.

5. ensure participants can apply NVC principles in various aspects of their work, including interactions with young people,policy discussions, and organizational communication.

6. prepare youth workers to lead NVC workshops and sessions, thereby disseminating the knowledge and skills acquired through the training.

7. Create a manual on how to use NVC in youth work that would aid as a support material for participants and other youth workers who want to use this approach

During TC #1 you will learn the foundations of NVC and develop skills to use it, and during TC #2 you will level-up your skills and become even more confident and able to facilitate NVC events and apply NVC in youth work practices. After TC #2 participants will receive official certificate of attendance that they will be able to use as proof of learning  and in their path in becoming NVC certified trainer (if they wish)

Participation fee

50 eur participation fee for each part of the training (to be transfered after selection process).

 

Accommodation and food

The travel, accommodation, and food will be covered by the Erasmus+ programme.

Travel reimbursement

Travel will be reimbursed depending on the distance (see Erasmus+ guide and distance calculator): https://erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu/resources-and-tools/distance-calculator 

Reimbursement depends on travel distance and whether travel is considered green travel. For concrete budget please check the info pack of the project.
