Empathetic Flow - Non Violent Communication for Youth Workers

Training Course

15-22 December 2025 | Poland

A 6-day international training for youth workers to develop empathy, self-awareness and communication skills through Nonviolent Communication, self-compassion and embodiment — supporting mental health and creating caring communities.

"Empathetic Flow – Non Violent Communication for Youth Workers" is a 6-day international training course for youth workers, trainers, facilitators, educators and volunteers active in the field of non-formal learning and youth work.

Our Vision
We envision a Europe where young people are heard, seen and met with empathy — where caring and self-aware adults are present to support them, helping to prevent loneliness, emotional crises and everyday mental health challenges.

Goal
The main goal of the training is to develop an empathic, compassionate and self-aware attitude in youth workers and to strengthen their competences in creating emotionally safe, inclusive and supportive communities.

Through Nonviolent Communication (NVC), self-compassion, embodiment, and mindfulness practices, participants will explore how empathy — for oneself and others — supports mental health, how authentic self-expression acts as a protective factor, and how to respond to resistance and emotional challenges of young people with care and awareness.

Specific objectives:
On the level of attitudes:

  • to cultivate empathy and compassion as inner attitudes and ways of being,
  • to approach young people’s emotions and resistance with understanding and curiosity,
  • to foster authenticity, coherence, and presence in relationships,
  • to strengthen inner resources for navigating uncertainty and diversity with care.

On the level of skills:

  • to practice empathic listening and authentic expression in relationships,
  • to identify and communicate needs in oneself and others,
  • to apply body-based techniques for emotional regulation,
  • to use self-compassion tools in response to conflict or inner criticism,
  • to facilitate safe and inclusive group environments that foster openness and trust.

On the level of knowledge:

  • to understand NVC as an approach to communication and community building, and as a technique supporting self-regulation and self-awareness,
  • to learn about the concept of self-compassion and its relevance in youth work,
  • to explore body-based practices as tools for supporting mental health,
  • to recognize self-expression and authenticity as protective factors for youth wellbeing.

The program combines experiential learning, reflection, sharing circles, movement and nature-based activities. Participants will gain practical tools for self-regulation, emotional awareness and inclusive facilitation that can be directly applied in youth work and non-formal education.

The training will be facilitated by Magdalena Sendor – certified NVC trainer, mediator, and facilitator – and Bea Peciakowska, trainer experienced in non-formal education, NVC, and nature-based methods.
