Training Course
10-19 August 2021 | Yerevan, Armenia
Youth work, as a facilitator between good ideas and young people, is spreading ideas of how to be eco-friendly, how to reuse, reduce and recycle. But still many people accept nature protection and resource-saving as a business of ecoactivists, not themselves. As youth workers taking part in different projects, we've noticed that many projects could be more eco-friendly. So, this project is for youth workers/leaders, who are organizing Erasmus+ and other projects, to make them more environmental-friendly. Food, energy, water, stationery, Light Bulbs, garbage separation, detergents are the visible part of the iceberg.
The aim of the project is to promote eco-friendly behavior among organizers of local and international youth activities in order to make projects less polluting, organic, energy-saving and responsible.
Objectives are:
- To empower youth workers and youth leaders with the skills of making projects more sustainable and environmentally responsible;
- To create an educational brochure for youth project organizers with practical recommendations to make activities and facilities eco-friendlier;
- To enhance the number of environmental projects organized by partner organizations;
- To create educational tools for youth workers, that they can use during the youth projects;
- To emphasis the value of environment-friendliness of the EU projects and specifically the Erasmus+.
The project consists of 3 parts and 2 activities:
Training course will take place in Armenia in August 2021. It will gather 35 youth leaders/workers from 11 countries. During the activity, participants will learn and share their knowledge about environmental protection and sustainability. Also, they will discuss how to promote and raise awareness about more eco-friendly work styles during the youth projects. As an outcome of the project, the team and the participants in smaller groups will develop project ideas taking into consideration the environmental component and will create a brochure and video materials with instructions on how to organize eco-friendlier projects.
“Homework”- Between two activities, there will be a period of implementation of local initiatives of participants which will be monitored and supported by the trainers by individual online meetings.
The evaluation seminar will take place in Luxembourg in December, 2021. This activity will bring together participants after the implementation of the local actions to share the results of their experience and to create tools for youth workers and organizations in the field of environmental education and sustainability.
