EcoSmart 2.0 is an Erasmus+ Training Course designed to strengthen the capacity of youth workers in the fields of smart city solutions, digital innovation, sustainability, and youth participation.

The EcoSmart 2.0 project addresses the growing need to equip youth workers with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to engage young people in the development of smart, sustainable, and inclusive cities. As digital technologies increasingly shape urban life, youth workers play a key role in helping young people understand, participate in, and contribute to these transformations. 

EcoSmart 2.0 is an Erasmus+ Training Course designed to strengthen the capacity of youth workers in the fields of smart city solutions, digital innovation, sustainability, and youth participation. The project combines non-formal education, practical learning, and international cooperation to support more innovative and future-oriented youth work practices.

The project brings together 30 youth workers from 7 countries for a 7-day training course in Stuttgart, Germany, combining workshops, field visits, cultural exchange, and hands-on learning.

MAIN OBJECTIVES

  • Increase the capacity of participating organizations to integrate smart city-related topics into their regular youth work activities
  • Equip participants with practical tools, methods, and approaches to actively involve young people in smart, sustainable, and inclusive urban development
  • Foster transnational cooperation and peer learning among youth work professionals from different European contexts
  • Contribute to the long-term development of innovative, future-oriented youth work practices at local and European levels
  • Strengthen the professional competences of youth workers and youth work multipliers in the field of smart city solutions and youth engagement

Individual Level

Expertise: Mastered smart city concepts, digital innovation, and urban sustainability.

Leadership: Advanced project management, teamwork, and youth facilitation skills.

Engagement: Built high confidence in using digital tools for youth participation.

Integration: Embedded sustainability and smart city topics into daily youth work.

Networking: Strengthened partner cooperation and future Erasmus+ opportunities.

Innovation: Enhanced capacity to design projects aligned with European priorities.

Local Impact: Launched EcoSmart 2.0 workshops and community action projects.

Awareness: Boosted youth participation in sustainable urban development.

Solutions: Promoted youth-led, innovative answers to local challenges.

Project Outputs

R1 & R2: Implemented community projects and created the EcoSmart 2.0 Toolkit.

R3 & R4: Delivered digital media campaigns and local dissemination events.

R5: Formed a stronger European network of youth organizations

This training is particularly suitable for youth workers who are actively working with young people (aged 16–30), especially within non-formal education settings, and who are motivated to integrate environmental topics into their work.

Participation fee

No participation fee.

Accommodation and food

We will cover accommodation and food expenses for the selected participants. 

The hotel and meeting venue is located in Stuttgart and reachable by public transportation. Rooms will be arranged according to gender balance and shared between 2-3 participants. More details can be found in the infopack.

Travel reimbursement

We will suggest travel itineraries for participants to book, not exceeding 395 EUR for all the involved countries.
