Want to be part of our innovative, hands-on training for youth workers (both paid and volunteer) that will cover a range of topics such as active citizenship, youth empowerment and leadership, climate protection, sustainable diets, and behavior change and take home loads of useful tools and methods on how to put them into action!

This TtT is part of an EC funded project, “Eat4Change” that focuses on empowering young people to get active for climate protection by embracing more sustainable diets and becoming active citizens for the planet.

For whom is the TtT designed?

You should join us if you...

  • Work with youth directly and/or other youth workers and organizations
  • Are looking for expanding your knowledge and experience in empowering youth and supporting active citizenship
  • Are looking to incorporate the topics of climate protection and sustainable diets in your repertoire
  • Want to be part of a dynamic European network of youth workers and active citizens.
  • Are located in the countries surrounding Austria (Central and Eastern Europe)

What are the training details?

  • The training from Monday and Friday (travel on Mo/Fr)
  • Participate in a pre-training online webinar of ca. 2 hours to "set the stage"
  • English will be used as the main training language
  • ALL costs including accommodation and board - upon arrival at the location - as well as all learning materials and training costs will be covered by the Eat4Change project
  • Travel costs will be reimbursed on a limited “need” and availability basis
  • Participation “reservation” fee will be required and returned after successful completion of the course

What can I expect from the training?

  • 3 full days of hands-on, interactive training
  • Loads of methods, tools and activities that are easily adapted and implemented back home!
  • Important background information on the climate crisis, sustainable diets, youth empowerment, active citizenship, behavior change and more
  • User-friendly handbook to accompany the training plus lots of bonus information and activities to try out with your youth members.
  • Time in nature and opportunities to network with other youth workers and experts!

Application process:

To ensure top quality the number of participants will be limited to 25/training. An application process will be used for the training and  selection will be based on applicant’s level of interest and motivation, diversity, training reach of the sending organization, ability to disseminate and integrate the content into their programs.

What are the steps to apply?

Please complete the registration form and answer the questions completely so that we can get the best picture of your compatibility.

All applicants will be notified within 2 weeks of their results and receive additional information about travel arrangements, preparation webinar, and details about arrival/departure, etc.

Internationally, WWF is one of the largest and most well known environmental organizations. WWF-Austria (WWF-AT) is part of the global network of offices and focuses on local and international projects. Within the department, „Education for Sustainable Development,“ WWF-AT focuses on youth empowerment and developing international networks. In 2010, WWF-AT started a non-formal youth leadership and empowerment program called “Generation Earth”. This program supports young adults develop the skills and competences to be able to take action on environmental issues. Youth are deeply involved in decision-making and developing and offering trainings through peer-to-peer workshops. Through this program, WWF-AT has been involved in a number of international and EC-funded projects.

Costs

Participation fee

An 150 EUR "participant reservation fee" will be due prior to the training and returned based on successful completion of the course.

Accommodation and food

Accommodation and Food will be covered by the project for the days of the training.

Travel reimbursement

Travel reimbursement will be distributed based on the total travel cost requests and focus on greatest need and a fair distribution.
