Training Course

13-19 September 2012 | Berlin, Germany

This training will bring together youth and social workers dealing with educational programs for young adults and job seekers to share experience & develop new approaches in fostering their learner's motivation to engage in professional life and society.
Assisting learners in finding the right pathways to their professional future and life is closely linked to their individual motivation. But what if they have no motivation to engage in professional training or work and to become an active member of society? How can we foster their motivation? This seminar will bring together educators, teachers and social workers involved in career counseling, social inclusion and motivational programs for job seekers from different European countries to share their experiences and develop innovative approaches in fostering their learner's motivation to engage in professional life and society. On the following website you will find the detailed course description in the Comenius/Grundtvig Course database of the European Commission: http://ec.europa.eu/education/trainingdatabase/index.cfm?fuseaction=DisplayCourse&cid=31754 Contents/Methodology The program will contain a mix of informative, creative and interactive methods which will enable participants to undergo a learning process in an international group setting and to reach tangible results which are relevant for the work in their own organizations. Therefore for the first part of the seminar program particular emphasis will be laid upon the sharing of experiences, expectations and needs of the participants so that these can be taken into consideration throughout the rest of the program implementation. Expert inputs and visits to best practice examples in Berlin will enable participants to increase their knowledge and broaden their horizon with regards to different approaches in dealing with motivational difficulties of learners and jobseekers. Last but not least the program will contain plenary and group discussions on the situation of job seekers, migrants and socially disadvantaged groups in different and workshops during which strategies, tools and methods will be developed to be used in the further work with these target groups.
