Digital Tools for Autism Inclusion: Supporting Youth Workers, NGOs and Caregivers Through Coordinated Care

E-learning

22 July 2026 | Online, Lebanon

A free online learning webinar for youth workers, NGOs and inclusion actors on autism, care-circle coordination, caregiver guidance, and the ethical use of digital tools and AI in youth and community support.

Digital Tools for Autism Inclusion: Supporting Youth Workers, NGOs and Caregivers Through Coordinated Care is a free online e-learning webinar for youth workers, NGO staff, youth leaders, trainers, mentors, educators, volunteers and inclusion actors who want to better understand autism-related support needs and the ethical use of digital tools in youth work and community-based support.

Many autistic and neurodivergent children and young people are supported by several actors at the same time: caregivers, therapists, educators, youth workers, NGOs, autism centres and community organisations. However, these actors often work separately, which can create communication gaps, fragmented follow-up, repeated information, missed observations and additional pressure on families.

The webinar will explore how youth workers and NGOs can better support autistic and neurodivergent young people by understanding the “care circle” around the child or young person. Participants will reflect on how structured observations, caregiver guidance, inclusive communication, referral awareness and coordination between families and professionals can improve support in non-formal education, youth work, NGO and community settings.

The session will also introduce the safe and ethical use of digital tools and AI in autism-related support. Participants will discuss how technology can help organise observations, support caregiver guidance, track routines and behaviour patterns, improve communication and strengthen continuity of care. At the same time, the webinar will clearly address the limits of digital tools: they should not diagnose, replace therapists or educators, make clinical decisions or present AI-generated information as final professional advice.

A practical case example will be used to illustrate how an ethical AI-enabled support ecosystem can respond to fragmentation in autism-related support. This example, drawn from the emerging CereAura initiative, will show how digital tools may support caregiver guidance, structured observations, care-circle coordination and communication between families and professionals. The example will be presented within a broader educational discussion on ethical digital tools, autism inclusion and youth work, not as a commercial product presentation.

The webinar will use a non-formal learning approach combining short inputs, guided reflection, a practical observation checklist, participant discussion and exchange of experiences. Participants will receive a pre-webinar package introducing the main concepts, reflection questions and practical tools.

Main aim

The aim of the webinar is to strengthen the capacity of youth workers, NGOs, educators, trainers, mentors, volunteers and inclusion actors to understand autism-related support needs and explore how ethical digital tools can support inclusive youth work, caregiver guidance and coordinated care.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • explain basic autism and neurodiversity concepts relevant to youth work and NGO settings;
  • identify common communication gaps between caregivers, therapists, schools, NGOs and youth workers;
  • recognise practical ways to make youth and community activities more predictable, inclusive and supportive;
  • understand how digital tools may support observation tracking, caregiver guidance and care coordination;
  • distinguish between ethical digital support and inappropriate clinical or diagnostic claims;
  • reflect on how youth workers and NGOs can use digital tools responsibly while protecting privacy, safeguarding and professional boundaries;
  • explore future learning exchange around autism inclusion, digital innovation and community-based support.

Proposed programme

Welcome and introduction

  • Autism and neurodiversity in youth work
  • The care-circle challenge: families, therapists, educators, NGOs and youth workers
  • Practical support role of youth workers and NGOs
  • Digital tools and AI: opportunities and ethical limits
  • Case example: ethical digital support for autism care coordination
  • Participant reflection and discussion
  • Closing, feedback and next steps

Methodology

The activity is based on non-formal learning principles. It will include short presentations, guided reflection, discussion questions, a practical observation checklist, case-based exchange and participant contributions. The webinar does not require clinical expertise. It is designed for youth workers and NGO actors who want to strengthen their inclusion practice and understand how digital tools can support, but not replace, human and professional support.

Accessibility

The webinar will take place online. Participants will be able to interact through voice or chat. The language will be clear and accessible, and the pre-webinar participant package will be shared in advance. Participants may contact the organiser before the session to communicate accessibility needs.

Important note

This webinar is not a diagnostic, medical or clinical training. It does not provide medical advice and does not replace professional therapeutic, educational or clinical judgment. Its purpose is educational: to support autism inclusion, digital literacy, ethical reflection, youth work capacity-building and responsible use of digital tools.
