Digital Minds of the Future

Training Course

19-26 May 2026 | Mezőberény, Hungary

This training course aims to bring together 26 youth workers from diverse European contexts in order to explore how digital tools can be meaningfully integrated into non-formal learning and everyday youth work practice.

Context

In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, young people are constantly interacting, learning, and expressing themselves through technology. However, youth work practices do not always keep pace with these changes. Digital tools are often used as add-ons rather than as intentional elements of the learning process.

This training course responds to the growing need to strengthen the digital competences of youth workers and to rethink how technology can enhance participation, creativity, collaboration, and reflection. The focus is not only on using digital tools, but on integrating them in a purposeful way that supports meaningful, inclusive, and engaging non-formal learning experiences.

Goal

The course is designed for youth workers, trainers, facilitators, and educators (18+) from European Union Member States and countries associated with the Erasmus+ programme who are motivated to explore innovative approaches in youth work.

The main goal is to empower participants to confidently use digital tools within non-formal education, while also encouraging them to experiment, co-create, and design interactive learning experiences that respond to the real needs and interests of young people.

Program

During 8 days in Mezőberény, Hungary (19–26 May 2026), participants will take part in an intensive, hands-on learning experience based on non-formal education, peer learning, and collaboration.

Key elements of the programme include:

  • Digital Youth Work Today: Exploring the role of digitalisation in youth work, sharing experiences, and identifying challenges and opportunities.
  • Digital Learning Tools: Discovering and testing a variety of digital platforms and tools that support engagement, participation, and learning.
  • Content Creation & Facilitation: Developing skills in digital storytelling, creating visual and interactive content, and facilitating online or hybrid sessions.
  • Innovative Pedagogy: Experimenting with methods that combine digital tools with participatory, learner-centered approaches.
  • Co-Creation Lab: Working in teams to design and develop digital tools and interactive games aimed at addressing relevant topics for young people.
  • Blended Learning & Collaboration: Exploring ways to combine online and offline learning environments effectively.
  • Study Visit: A visit to Békéscsaba to experience local practices and gain inspiration from real-life examples of youth work and community engagement.

Results and Impact

By the end of the training, participants will have strengthened their digital competences and gained practical tools to integrate into their daily work. They will leave with concrete ideas, self-developed digital resources, and interactive methods ready to be applied in their local contexts.

The course will also foster an international network of youth workers who are confident in using digital tools as an integral part of non-formal learning, contributing to more relevant, engaging, and future-oriented youth work practices across Europe.
