We are offering 4, 2 week long courses over the Summer of 2020. They are targeted towards youth workers and will give them the opportunity to learn about engineering and digital technologies through participating in activities.

Digital Heroes project is providing four seperate opportunities for youth workers to learn and develop their skills through MakerEducation activities and using Digital Technologies.

Calling for participants from France, Romania, Latvia and Bulgaria!

WHEN?

During the months of July and August 2020 there will be four courses running, each lasting 2 weeks. The courses will each be focussing on different subjects, therefore the exact dates will depend on the course of interest.

WHO?

We are searching for candidates who are interested in:

Devleoping their skills in digital technologies, problem solving and STEAM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths).

Developing skills to be able to use digital technologies for social change.

Developing skills around MakerEducation and learning how such activities can be used to inspire younger generations and reconnect them with society.

WHAT?

There will be four different training course, each lasting two weeks. They will focus on a specific area but over the two weeks many different areas and activities will be covered.

The four main subject areas of each course are:

1. Digital Fabrication

Learn how to create things with the help of machines that are controlled via a computer. We will explore how to imagine and design objects which can be created using the correct software and later sent to a machine which can physically produce them.

2.  Programming

Learn how to programme and adopt a computational way of thinking. This course will provide an introduction to coding through exploring visual/block coding softwares such as Scratch and other softwares including mBlock, Arduino and Raspberry Pi.

3. Connected Objects

This course will focus on projects related to the internet of things and connected objects. Connected objects are any item embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity which enable them to collect and exchange data.  This course will be an opportunity to learn about basic electronics and coding and implement them in different scenarios.

4. Electronic Textiles and wearables

This course will focus on techniques and methods revolving around technology, textiles, arts and crafts. There will be a focus around using basic electronics and programming to create new and interactive wearable items.

WHERE?

Digijeunes (Youth NGO)

Digjeunes' core area of work is focused on the promotion of digital technology among young people, as well as youth workers and educators. We believe it is a great asset for young people to have a real understanding of technology, in order to solve the challenges of tomorrow, whether economic, technical or even ecological.
Our activity, beyond training, aims to recreate a link between European peoples, by giving them memories and common knowledge. To do this, we go to schools, social centres, and public events, in order to always be as close as possible to social realities.
