"Deal with our past to live better our future" TC

Training Course

This training course will bring together 25 youth workers and activists from 10 different EU and Eastern Partnership countries to discuss and share their experience about working with young people on sensitive historical issues.
Training course "Deal with our past to live better our future" will bring together 25 youth workers and activists from different EU and Eastern Partnership countries, as Armenia, Georgia, Italy, Lithuania, Romania, Slovenia, Moldova to discuss and share their experience about working with young people on sensitive historical issues including violence and conflict. The course will be hosted by association "COMPASS" and will take a place in Armenia where participants for one week will have an opportunity to share ideas and opinions and create new tools for promoting human rights and genocide education to youngsters among European countries. With the methodology of non -formal education, this course will strengthen youth activists who have contact with other young people, to have a huge impact on their local communities and will reach those objectives: •To present the concept of genocide education and human rights education to youth workers or youth activists participating in the activity; •To provide new tools for youth workers in order they can use genocide education with the target groups which they are working with; •To develop competencies of youth workers on genocide education and human rights education using non formal education approach •To bring together youth from different parts of Europe to exchange opinions and values, to learn from each others experiences in relation with the topic; •To create new future cooperation and increase the visibility of the results of Youth in Action Programme (Erasmus+); In this way the course will develop mutual understanding, solidarity and promoting tolerance among young people come from different countries and culture.

As a result of a youth initiative group we have established Compass NGO which is a youth organization working with youth and for youth. We are initiating and organizing projects that are aimed at spreading fundamental values and trying to engage youth in the civil society activities and decision making in Armenia. For above mentioned goals we have set following objectives.
-- Promotion of the youth participation and inclusion in the decision making process;
-- Promotion of Armenia’s successful integration into European structures;
-- Promotion of the fundamental values of tolerance, democracy, respect for human rights, active citizenship, intercultural and interreligious dialogue and participation;
-- Organize youth excahnges, training courses, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, festivals and other activities to promote the realisation of the objectives of the organization.
We are a very young organization but are very motivated and hardworking.

Costs

The host Organization will cover 70% of the travel costs and 100% food and accommodation.
