D.C.O.D.E. – Decoding Dopamine: A Strategic Map for Youth Workers

D.C.O.D.E. is an Erasmus+ Training Course in Ighiu, Romania, for 25 youth workers from five countries. It explores dopamine, attention and digital habits, offering practical non-formal tools for healthier technology use.

D.C.O.D.E. – Decoding Dopamine: A Strategic Map for Youth Workers is an Erasmus+ Training Course that helps youth workers understand why digital technologies are so engaging, how dopamine, attention, habits, and digital environments influence young people's behaviour, and what practical strategies can be used to promote healthier digital habits.
Through non-formal education, experiential learning, and practical workshops, participants will gain tools they can directly apply in their youth work. The training will take place in Ighiu, Romania, from 24 October to 2 November 2026 (including travel days) and will bring together 25 youth workers from Romania, Spain, Portugal, Türkiye, and Greece.
After the training, Objectives

To increase youth workers' understanding of how dopamine, attention, habits, and digital environments influence young people's behaviour.
To equip participants with practical non-formal education methods that promote healthier digital habits among young people.
To strengthen participants' capacity to critically analyse digital tools and support young people in developing a balanced relationship with technology.
To encourage the exchange of good practices and foster international cooperation among youth workers.
To support participants in transferring the knowledge, methods, and tools acquired during the training into their local communities through follow-up activities.

Costs

Participation fee

There is no participation fee.

Accommodation and food

The project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme. Accommodation, meals and coffee breaks during the official project period.

Travel reimbursement

Travel costs will be reimbursed by the hosting organisation according to the Erasmus+ distance-band rules and within the maximum amounts approved for the project.

Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass:
