Creative Facilitation TC: Tool Fair as experience!

Training Course

4-12 December 2015 | Budapest, Hungary

Have you ever thought about using drawings, cartoons and other visual materials to support learning in international activities or using music as a method or photos as tools for supporting non-formal learning? Would you like to try to do it yourself?
Are you looking for ways to capture the important moments of life? Are you juggling with the challenges of youth projects? Well, if you answered YES any of these questions then one of these courses is for! This special training, which is an initiation connected to the Tool Fair X activity, aims at presenting traditional and innovative methods and techniques for the participants. The new skills, gained during this 3 day long short term training will be put into practice and evaluated at the Tool Fair X. The training course will provide opportunities to a group of 15 people to learn about how to use Photography, Graphic facilitation and Music, and it will also provide feedback about the learning process of the participants during the Tool Fair X. This year the creative facilitation TC offers the following topics: 1) Photography Aims: • To learn how to use photography in social media; • To tell a story by pictures; • To learn how to use basic photo editing tools; • To become familiar with managing a digital photography workflow as a team: learning how to share tasks when covering the photographic report of an event for a more efficient and faster output, and also that you can be part of a team and maybe never take one picture but be the one responsible for post-production or for on-line sharing. 2) Graphic facilitation, visual recording During the training course participants will get the chance to work on simple and useful skills, such as how to draw things like people, emotions, objects etc., reflect and monitor their own learning process, and learn how to pay attention to, and highlight the ‘gist’ Aims: • To introduce graphic facilitation as a tool in the field of youth; • To break the myth that you need to be "an artist" to do this; • To explore some of the main types of graphic facilitation including drawings, mind mapping, reporting through illustration, etc. 3) Music Aims: • To raise awareness of music as a tool for communication and expression; • To use musical tools to support group dynamics processes; • To learn how to use background music at trainings; • To use music as a tool of for group building. We wish to accomplish these aims through a practice-based intensive training course. The course will be organised in three parts: 1) A three day long TC during which the participants will try out different forms of photography /graphic facilitation /music (4-8 December 2015); 2) Participants will have the opportunity to put their new skills into practise during the whole Tool Fair X event as they can take part in coaching sessions each day (8-11 December 2015); 3) An evaluation meeting: right after the Tool Fair X an evaluation meeting will be held to discuss the effectiveness of this approach (12 December 2015). Target group: Educational practitioners in the European youth field: trainers, youth workers and youth leaders, etc. active in the youth field in general and more specifically within the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme. Previous experience is not required related to the topics. In order to participate you do need to have three basic qualities: a) the desire to use the mentioned methods in your future projects; b) some previous training experience; c) be available for the whole training course.
