Creating Spaces of Resilience with Young People

Training Course

2-7 May 2026 | Cairo + Stuttgart, Egypt

“Spaces of Resilience” links professionals from Cairo, Stuttgart, and beyond to rethink urban resilience through participatory methods, intercultural learning, and collaboration in youth and community work.

Cairo & Stuttgart, 2–7 May and 29 June–5 July 2026

How can young people become active agents in shaping resilient, inclusive, and sustainable cities? The international training Spaces of Resilience invites professionals and young leaders from Europe and the Mediterranean region to explore this question through an Erasmus+ exchange between Cairo and Stuttgart.

Over two workshop weeks, participants from social work, youth education, and sustainability fields will dive into the practice of creating community spaces for resilience. Together, they will explore participatory tools, intercultural dialogue, and new ways to connect local social practice with global perspectives. The first part of the program takes place in Cairo from 2–7 May 2026, followed by a second week in Stuttgart from 29 June to 5 July 2026, embedded within the IBA27 context.

The exchange offers a unique opportunity to learn directly from local communities, urban projects, and fellow professionals who work with young people in transformative ways. Through site visits, co-creation labs, and reflection spaces, participants will develop practical ideas that can be implemented back home – from community mapping and dialogue circles to creative storytelling for resilience.

The program is designed for youth workers, educators, social innovators, and community organizers who want to connect their local work with international learning. Travel, accommodation, and program costs are covered by Erasmus+, and participants will receive a Youthpass certificate recognizing their learning achievements.

By joining Spaces of Resilience, you become part of a growing network of practitioners and organizations that link social work, education for sustainable development, and urban transformation. Together, we create learning spaces where resilience is not only discussed – but lived.
