Cre-activity for urban youth
This TC is in a close relation to the 2010 - European year for Combating Poverty and Social exclusion, giving young people from the disadvantaged areas new learning opportunities and providing innovative, low-cost methods of work.
Aim of the TC:
To increase the participation of youth in disadvantaged (sub)urban areas.
Objectives:
- to provide tools supporting active participation of urban youth with fewer opportunities in local activities
- to give the inspiration for creating interactive and inclusive methods of working with youngsters using the resources available in the neighbourhood (recycle materials, public space, local partnerships, etc.)
- to increase participants' skills in attracting and empowering young people from urban areas
- to explore possibilities offered by the ‘Youth in Action’ Programme and motivate participants to use it
- to share experiences and best practices
- to offer space for new contacts and partnerships
This training course is meant for youth workers and youth leaders who are:
- directly working with young people from the cities, especially from disadvantaged urban/suburban areas
- willing to use creative active methods (including sports, music, games, etc.) to facilitate social inclusion and learning process of young people
- not very experienced in ‘Youth in Action’ Programme
- able to communicate and work in English
- aged 18 years or older
- ready for ACTIVE participation in the whole training
This training course is an outcome of ToT TC and is organized in cooperation of Dutch, German and Polish NAs.
