Training Course
4-8 April 2020 | Ev.Jugendbildungs- und Begegnungsstätte Hirschluch, Germany
Background: The fact that young people behave differently from social expectations is normal in terms of developmental psychology and sociology. They question what is socially recognized, distance themselves from current social conditions, and embark on a search for their own identity and life plan. This questioning of the status quo by young people turns out to be more or less "radical".
In the context of youth work, a distinction between security policy, preventive and educational aspects is all the more necessary. As with many other social issues, youth work must not be allowed to be taken up simply as a duty. Rather, youth work must clearly focus on its pedagogical work, which in principle is directed at all children and young people and young adults.
Develop an attitude: During the training, the experts work out and reflect on the causes, handling and effects of radicalisation tendencies among young people and agree on an attitude with which they want to counter them.
Learning methods: Participants should become familiar with methods and strategies that focus on communicating the basic common values of our society. The aim of these is to counteract radicalisation tendencies among young people and to avoid them.
Exchange experiences: The participants' many years of experience from their work in the youth field make it possible to include different perspectives and problems. There will be room for the exchange of current developments, challenges and examples of good practice. New project ideas can be developed and joint opportunities for action and shaping can be expanded. Involving young people: The views and opinions of young people are essential and must be perceived first and foremost. That is why we follow an unusual training approach and will include it in our work processes and discussions in order to enable an ongoing dialogue at eye level between young people and specialists.
